Message To Pozorrubians
From the Editor of PozoConnect
To My
Townmates:
The Internet has created a new space
in our homes, schools, and organizations. A virtual space that
exists anywhere we are. It has also created an overwhelming flow of
information, which maybe could be confusing. Selection of the best
information is a challenging task of an information professional
like me. One of my goals as an information professional, that is,
as a Librarian, is to evaluate and review this information before
it is received by users.
The Internet is just one of the tools
for information. It should be used with the other sources and not to
be regarded as the only source for research.
The objective of these pages within
the
Pozorrubio Online is to provide good sites for children,
parents, teachers, students, professionals or anyone looking for
information. My evaluation is intended for my kabaleyans. Since
the foundation of education starts at home and with parents, let’s
start with sites for young children and for their parents.
I have a great interest in teaching
and in sharing my knowledge and experiences. This is one great way
for me to share what my loving parents have expected me to help
others. My parents, Lelis and Numeriano, Sr. were long-time
educators in this town. Through these selected Web pages, I hope to
enhance or add flavor to what you already know. Though I am
thousands of miles away from Pozorrubio, with information at my
fingertips due to technology, I hope to be one of your virtual
teachers or information resource link.
If you are a Pozorrubian high school
or college student preparing a term paper or research project on a
topic and you have questions on how to start it; what resources
to use; how to cite references, etc., you may contact me via
e-mail. I will not prepare your outline or write your paper, but,
you will expect that I will guide you to the right direction through
the maze of information that you may have. Or if you are not
finding any information on your topic, then with my knowledge and
experiences in research, I hope to suggest to you a pathfinder.
If you are a teacher who is maybe
looking for enriching your students’ learning, I am also eager to
hear from you.
