The National
Computer Center – Field Operations Office recently released Technical
Advisory No. 2003-003 regarding the termination of free web hosting
services to the various local government units.
According to the advisory, this move is being undertaken to enable the
LGUs to be self-sufficient especially in sustaining their online
presence. The termination of the NCC hosting will be carried out in
three phases with cut-off dates as follows:
Provinces, Cities and 1st Class Municipalities – June 30, 2008
2nd Class Municipalities – December 31, 2008
3rd to 6th Class Municipalities – June 30, 2009
As such, all concerned LGUs are advised to have their sites transferred
to a service provider of their choice before the given deadline.
